three, nearly four, soon five devices of mine are.
they only have a few more years left before becoming piles of ashes, devoid of any purpose except clutter.
the 32-bit processors inside are obsolete to the point where even simple tasks are now impossible.
what changed? the tasks done on them sure didnt.
it is on fire. it is burning. it will burn up soon.
web browsers do not run.
operating systems do not run on 32 bit anymore. (why not?)
chat apps do not run.
its access to the internet is still okay, but it is burning.
the SSL certificate stores of the last releases to support 32 bit are expiring.
death is upon these machines. they are already bleeding.
not even linux can save most of them anymore.
nor can bsd,
or the obscure os you might be thinking of, because that os
is not usable enough.
the last computers to be built like absolute tanks with every aspect replaceable.
technology old enough to not be as fragile as what we have now, electrically too.
it is burning, yet it is exactly what can defeat the fog.
why?
why even linux?
nothing is safe.
my 2016 hp laptop is next.
the T400 is already glimmering.
but not everything runs on a 2016 release of linux. the fire extinguisher, the cessation of updates, at the same time is a flame thrower at newer software.
they were excellently usable.
they are now on fire.
nearly or fully unusable.
if not now then soon.
