- sorry i meant to publish this yesterday but i accidentally drank caffeine and it basically made me extremely tired and drained all my energy and then also made me unable to sleep so i was unable to do ANYTHING -



ive decided to finish moving the wood here today. after all i was interrupted on that.

the forest has really sprung back to life by now. its mostly evergreen, but the birds are at their year-round peak: its very nice. in fact i heard so much birdsong it was a bit difficult to decipher which birds were singing there! though i suppose in the woodpecker's case, its rather pecking than singing... either way, it is LOUD there. i didnt really notice last time, i suppose i was a bit too busy then, but im taking my time today.

i also got a bit scared by a noise while walking. it ended up being nothing, but its interesting that even after so long of regularly coming here and knowing theres very little danger, im still so easily frightened.

anyways. the wood is moved, but the day isnt over. i suppose i could make a new rooftop farm on my new dwelling. itll be a few days of work, but i can do it. essentially, i just have to dig up the ground somewhere nearby and bring it upstairs bucket-by-bucket. its a lot of work, and i might as well get started now, then i still have time to plant some more potatoes. after all, if i can get a freezer to work by then, ill be good to store countless!

the roof actually still had quite a bit of scrap on it. it seems someone was trying to set up a solar power rig here but then gave up. importantly for me, there was a small box with two electrical connections on one side and two on the other, and a marking saying "Output: 230Vrms, 2A" - that is almost certainly some cheap solar inverter... i will try using it with the panels and a freezer later, but im not too optimistic that it will actually still work.

anyway, after digging up some soil and lugging it up one bucket at a time, i got around a square meter filled before the sun set. not a lot, but far from a bad start.
