the last few days have been terrible. i was mostly too frustrated to do anything after the failure to read about what to feed the crows. im still frustrated, but i need to rip myself out of this cycle of nothing because otherwise i will fucking starve. the soup has been getting leaner as ive rarely had much motivation to extend it. it bothers me so much that nothing was telling me what to do. it made me think of returning to society, but that is a thought akin to suicide. i am not going back.

even if the crows dont like my food, theyll hardly chase me down. worst case they just dont eat it.

i know some farmers consider crows to be pests. this means they eat seeds. corn is probably the easiest but ive not really grown any in absolute ages. its probably pointless. there might be a few cans of it, but thats not a renewable source... i doubt theyll eat potatoes and such. i will try to grow corn, and to start that i will have to steal some.

it is quite early. 9 o'clock, to be precise, which i dont usually like to be. i have a whole day to venture into the fields to the west.

i went westwards for quite a long time. perhaps problematically, i forgot over the years that most people's clothing isnt full of patchwork and obvious manual fixes, because i did meet a hiker on the way. we didnt talk, but they did look at me extremely strangely. i was a bit surprised noone had gone through entona in such a long time, and yet as soon as i left, i already met someone from the outside... after exchanging stares, we both continued going our separate ways.

i did eventually reach corn fields. they were quite hard to spot, considering the plants were still quite small by the time. i wasn't even sure they were corn at first, but they did show the characteristic wide stem with very green, somewhat wide leaves. i uprooted a few plants and brought them with me.

on the way back, the hiker once again crossed my path, unfortunately. he now looked quite suspicious at me and asked where i got these from, to which i responded by lying that they were laying on the side of the road. he either ate my lie or decided to let me be anyway, though shaking his head a bit as he went on. the rest of the way back was uneventful and i have by now placed the five corn plants in the ground next to my potatoes - may they not hurt eachother.
