dear children: before you read this chapter, please know
that it sucks. truly, it is the worst chapter i have written
so far as i made it while constantly being distracted and am
generally running out of steam a bit. i will leave it as is
for now however, and take this as a signal to take a bit of
a break.
today it is time. ive thought for long enough about those crows,
now is the time for me to actually start doing something. the
only problem is that i have no idea how to do that, and if i
make a mistake, they might begin to hate me. luckily, i think i
am smart enough not to make enough mistakes for that to happen.
but either way, i need some sort of plan. its been a while since
i last had to plan anything, a decade even, but oh well.
really i dont think i need to "plan" in the ordinary meaning of
the word: i just need to think about what i want to do here.
first order of business is probably to give them food, then
possibly try to train them to do things i want. but thats for
the future. i need to figure out what to feed them that i have,
but i assume they won't just eat whatever. ill need to find
some books, which means ill need to comb through some more
apartments. maybe this block will also have something, but before
i start doing that, i need to reload the soup and eat.

after eating, i combed through most of the block i live in.
most books were quite irrelevant, stories and some stuff about
technology and an encyclopedia too shallow to be of any use
to me. i dont need to know the latin name of everything, i dont
need to know the specific evolutionary tree of that bird. but
practical facts that i can use are few and far between. but i
did find a book that said something: they basically eat
everything, including most crops. unfortunately, id like
something more specific, so i will continue the search tomorrow.
now it is evening, and ive spent the entire day essentially
just flipping through a hundred or so books. it gave me a bit
of a headache, but its gotten better already since i stopped
the research. its still enough that im going to bed a bit
earlier than usual though. these books suck.
as you can see, there isnt much plot or taste here, and
informational content is also very low. may c008 be better.
