can i go back to living under my rock please? i have unfortunately made the mistake of letting someone tell me about things that have recently been happening.

at least today i did something. i picked up a broken tape deck and amplifier. i then fixed that amplifier. unfortunately, that doesnt fix anything but an amplifier, when instead it would be much better if some other things would be fixed as well.

theres a new maybe-pandemic type virus. one that came from small animals but is able to spread to humans sometimes. and now it also spreads between humans. great. oh well, whatever. no: it has a death rate of some 50%. as part of set of people who are not a huge fan of human extinction or dying, i dont enjoy this news. so not really "whatever" after all. theres also a few people who have now died from it who have failed to quarantine after their infection, with tens of people having had contact, few of them traceable. ... okay. sounds great.

it would be most excellent if this virus ceased to exist immediately as i write this. im sure this will happen, and as you know by now, everything i write is true. if it is not, i will make it so.

what else?

apparently opengatelabs is shutting down. with that the last diy hrt maker with even somewhat of a significant reputation and scale is gone from availability. the rest are also either completely gone or so overworked and understocked that i can basically forget ordering from those as well, and i have tried.

the ship was bound to sink some time. it seems that time is sooner than i expected.

not sure what to do.
